ourBRIDGE offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to match your skills, interests and availability.
Whether you would like to spend time helping our students improve their English skills, or help us plan a weekend community event, or have the time and expertise to lead an awesome project, we want to hear from you!
Community Engagement: Collection Drives and Events
From hanging posters around the community, picking up food for a community event, to collecting coats for our Winter Party, there are many ways to support ourBRIDGE outside of our afterschool program.
Programmatic Volunteer: After School + Summer Programs and Clubs
Work directly with ourBRIDGE kids staff during our afterschool and summer programs by providing classroom or reading support. Programmatic Volunteers must be able to commit to volunteering at least once per week for at least 8 weeks during the school year.
Are you an artist, dancer, or chef? We’re always looking for individuals who want to share their talents with the BRIDGE kids through facilitating our Club Days during the school year.

Screened
Safety is our main concern, for that reason every volunteer and staff person is carefully screened before joining us.
Aligned
We aim to create a nuturing environment for ourBRIDGE students to thrive, therefore, respecting one another is key.
Must Be Over 17
Volunteers need to be 17 years or older and have a heart for the kids, families, and communities ourBRIDGE works with.
Time Commitment
Programmatic volunteers must be able to commit to four months during our school-year program, and four weeks during our summer programming.
Frequently Asked Questions about Volunteering with ourBRIDGE
Volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds–from college students, full-time professionals, retirees, and former BRIDGE kids. The requirements to volunteer are: must be 17 years or older to volunteer, 14-16-year-olds can volunteer with a parent or guardian present.
No prior experience is required.
All volunteers must attend a 2 hour orientation and make a $25 contribution for the cost of the background check and the t-shirt (exceptions are available).
In addition, all volunteers who wish to work directly with students must complete a 1.5 hour online Sexual Abuse Awareness and Prevention Training.
Yes, we accept volunteer signs year-round. Our programmatic volunteer opportunities are available from September through July and all of our other opportunities are available all year long.
We have plenty of weekend events, special projects, and collection drives throughout the year that usually takes place during the weekends.
