Volunteer with us…together we will empower refugee and immigrant students.
We are truly inspired by all who teach, encourage, fundraise, advocate and create much-needed awareness on behalf of ourBRIDGE for KIDS and the greater refugee and immigrant community in Charlotte.
ourBRIDGE offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to match your skills, interests and availability. Whether you have just an evening to help staff a fundraising event or have the time to lead a major project, ourBRIDGE has a rewarding volunteer opportunity awaiting your talents.
Safety is our main concern, for that reason every volunteer and staff person is carefully screened before joining us.
We aim to create a nuturing environment for ourBRIDGE students to thrive, therefore, respecting one another is key.
Interns need to be 17 years or older and have a heart for the kids, families, and communities ourBRIDGE serves.
Commit to our program for four months during our school-year program, and four weeks during our summer programming.
We rely on “Core” volunteers to help lead major initiatives that are essential to our ability to empower our students and to advocate on behalf of the refugee and immigrant community in Charlotte.
Talk to us about current opportunities to serve as a “Core” volunteer in the following seven areas:
ourBRIDGE relies on “Committed” volunteers to support our one-of-a-kind enrichment program for newly arrived and 1st generation American children.
These volunteers make a time “commitment” (for example, agreeing to help children with homework one or two times per week over the course of ten weeks) that allows ourBRIDGE to maximize our impact with each and every child we serve.
Talk to us to learn more about our “Committed” volunteer opportunities and ways you can get involved to help ourBRIDGE kids succeed.
Interested in volunteering but wondering if you have the time to “fit it all in”?
Talk to us about our “Casual” volunteer opportunities that are ideally suited for those who want to support ourBRIDGE but don’t have the time to serve in our more time-intensive “Core” and “Committed” roles.
The ourBRIDGE staff relies on the time and talents of “Casual” volunteers to assist in supporting our mission. From hanging posters in community centers to occasional “tweeting” to bringing food for a special ourBRIDGE event, there is certain to be a “Casual” volunteer opportunity that is aligned with your availability.
ourBRIDGE for KIDS recognizes that a rewarding internship can be a bridge to your life’s work or an experiment in a career that interests you.
We offer a rich heritage of providing rewarding “work experience” internships and training for students and young professionals who are interested in education and advocacy for immigrant and refugee children.
