Since March 18th through May 31st of 2020, ourBRIDGE was able to deliver over 68,000 meals to hundreds of immigrant and refugee families which it supports on the Eastside of Charlotte along the Eastway Dr. and Albermarle Rd. corridors. This included breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Sunday each week.
“Do to the impact of the coronavirus it is imperative that we sustain and grow our efforts to meet the challenges that lie ahead,” says Sil Ganzó, Founder and Exec. Director, ourBRIDGE for KIDS. “Food insecurity is a major, growing issue among our Eastside community and even more so now as a result of the pandemic. This is why we have set a goal to raise an additional $200,000 during the Summer of 2020 to ensure that immigrant children and their families receive healthy meals on a daily basis. Together we will continue to make a difference.”
The $200,000 will pay for the distribution of an additional 100,000 meals to refugee and immigrant families. For every $1000, ourBRIDGE will deliver 502 full, healthy meals, to our neighbors on the Eastside. A cost of under $2.00 per meal.
